honourable mention in architectural competition
When juxtaposed with colourful and detail-filled Market Square, New Market Square seems to be dull and squalid. The architecture of the square should be renovated in accordance with its subdued, late-modernist nature while the floor of the square could become a monument to avantgarde of 1960'. Proposed design is a CAMELEON FLOOR made of colourful asphalts matched wih active RGB lighting. Changing colours of light falling on a constant colour-set of the floor would reveal it in its diversity. Such a solution could be programmed and combined with music. It would attract more people to outdoor activities located on the square especially since at some occassions people could interactively play with light owing to a vandal-proof control panel.
