first prize in "Color in Architecture" competition
The idea for the composition made of tiny, shimmering elements, referring to the idea of an oriental carpet, stems from the cultural context and from the surrounding architectural tissue. In the macroscale, the form and the composition draw extensively form the Oriental tradition. In the microscale the inspiration is drawn from the modern language of rasters, pixels and interactivity. The system is designed using the ABS which allows for full colour palette, an extra texturing and easy fixing in a likely case of vandalism.
