Contemporary interventions into an extermination camp should be devoid of any irritating gestures. The main idea of the design was a minimal intervention into the preserved material heritage and its maximal usage. Renewal of the existing building for the purpose of a visitors' centre takes a premise that each element, in a figurative sense, is a witness. The necessary interventions are in most cases the functional ones. Architectural design of the newly built hostel for volunteers is as pragmatic and unassuming as a barrack. Landscape design aims to evoke full concentration before the entrance to the area of the museum.
