Church and parish centre

The main goal was to create a sublime place of worship along with a model place for parish life, unrelated to the very liturgical dimension. The project puts emphasis primarily on the community dimension, basing on the premise that a strong and healthy bond in the local community not only strengthens liturgical practice but above all facilitates pastoral work and the practice of faith in everyday life. The architecture avoids spectacular spatial gestures or intertextual architectural solutions and is shaped as a modest but friendly wooden object, whose scale fits in the neighboring and planned development. The only non-standard element of the assembly is an openwork roof structure and cladding, which work as a 'lace-lining' for the raw and solid exterior and create an atmospheric effect in the interior.
